I thought that the whole three, Doodle, Google Calendar and Event Brite would be very useful tools for dealing with the admin side of any business or orgaisation including Libraries but I found the anyvite a great tool for
doing up invites to events which would be organised in Libraries.

Have only blogged a few times on our Library blog since finishing Web 2. Just don't have time or reason to blog. I only want to blog when I have a reason to. Time poor prevents useless blogging. Rejuvenating my blog was relatively easy from instructions after I got my bearings. Occasionally I
read other blogs but haven't made comments yet.

Wikis

Looking back over the Wikis after I have added to the NSWlearning 2.0 wiki I can see that wikis would be a great way to show what range of books our library has. Activities held regularly and new activities can be advertised on the Library wiki.
Services that the library provides like computers, faxing, photocopying etc can be listed.

Podcasts

I agree with all the comments listed about podcasts and the many and varied uses that libraries and staff can benefit from them. Podcasts can be used for book reviews, Library staff training, downloading articles from radio,Libray tours, projects and activities etc. etc.

online applications

We have already had experiences with online applications. Our Regional Librarian has used this to write up a Catalogueing manual for our libraries and we were able to look at it, also the secretary of PLNSW- country- Central West Zone wrote up aNew Libray Managers Tool kit which we can edit if necessary. This is really great for this reason that we don't have to be in the same place to be able to make a contribution to a document. It will be very useful in many ways for Library staff.
The public will also be able to use this these tools and we won't need to purchase new software.
Zoho is more complex with many different types of applications which is fantastic.
Thses online applications will be of great benefit to everyone.

Flickr is an amazing tool, no wonder people spend hours looking at photos.
I am having trouble getting photos from my camera to flickr. I'll have to try again next week.

future correspondence

By doing the Web 2.0 program I am hoping to learn to use all the different ways of communicating on the internet which I will be able to use in the course of running a library.
Lifelong learning is an understatement. Life is an every day learning curve at home, at work and within our community. I believe that one never stops learning whether it be in a class situation, at your work place of just general day to day living situations.
I haven't discovered many other blogs as yet except for the examples in this weeks lesson. I will investigate further over the next few days.
I can see that blogs will be useful in the Library.They can be used to advertise special events or collections or activities that will and are occuring at the Library.
Specific client audiences will also benefit as one will be able to set up a unique blog for a certain clientele eg, Young Adult or retirees.
